Concept
Corvus is a complete system with controller and max. three power amplifier for phase currents up to 5A. Due to a field-oriented control of the motors, an external position resolution is possible without a restriction of the max. velocity, which is the case in the micro step mode with clock and direction.
This unique controlling of the stepper motors causes an extremely low heat generation in the motors. To increase the position accuracy, Corvus supports optical and magnetic length measuring systems with digital RS-422 signal or analog 1Vpp signal. A deviation between the position of the drive and the measuring position is adjusted by a PID controller.
Key features
easy programming of the controller in physical units (mm, mm/s and mm/s2 for position, velocity and acceleration)
extremely quiet running in cooperation with the ITK-damper at the second shaft extension of the motor. Vibrations of the common stepper motor controllers are now a thing of the past.
vectorial moving of two or three axes
manual moving of all axes with the joystick is possible
position errors of the connected mechanic can be minimized with the integrated error correction
a position dependant output signal can be programmed to trigger customized devices (e.g. laser).
Corvus offers the choice between linear and sin2-acceleration. Mechanical vibrations, which are produced by the acceleration of the drive, can often be reduced with the sin²-function.
The concept "distributed power" provides the opportunity to distribute the power output to different motors. Therefore it is possible to control stepper motors of different dimensions at the same time. With the choice of the power supply unit, the user can choose the best price-performance ratio for his application.
