Concept

The trend to accommodate more and more powerful electronic in even smaller housings was realised with the glossary termHydra controller. With the help of the latest components, a complete 2-axes motion controller which is designed for continuous phase currents up to 10A could be accommodated in a space-saving housing. To programm the controller, it is equipped with a RS-232 interface and an ethernet interface. Hydra TT supports optical measuring systems but is especially designed for the new high-resolution absolute measuring systems of the ITK-Star-family. To evaluate the Star measuring systems, there are three digital high-speed measuring channels. Two of them can be used for the evaluation of the position of the drive axes, another channel is free for specific measuring applications. An efficient realtime operating system with a 400MHz risc-processor controls the controller and has enough reserves to complete specific application tasks.

Key features

The specific characteristics of Hydra are its very small and compact assembly, the high processing power and the possibility to produce continuous phase currents up to 10A. Moreover, Hydra supports the absolute measuring systems NanoStar and MicroStar, developed by ITK.

Positioning

The axes can be moved independently. A vectorial moving of the axes is possible as well.

Measuring systems

Hydra supports optical measuring systems with 1Vpp output and the absolute measuring systems of the ITK-Star-family, NanoStar and MicroStar.

Programming

The program-controlled operation is realised via the ASCII commands.

Software update

The Hydra firmware can be updated at any time, also inside the application.

Programming support

To support the software developer, a free API (function library) with different sample programs is available. It supports all functions of the controller.

Operation program

We provide the program "motion manager" to operate the controller.
