The history of ITK Dr. Kassen GmbH began in June 1982. Dr Folkert Kassen founded his engineering office in Dorlar, a district of Lahnau and thus laid the foundation for his company, which established itself in the international market from a former service provider for developments in the hardware and software sector to a successful company with a focus on the development and production of mechatronic systems with the highest precision. The location not far from the optical city of Wetzlar was a good choice. Innovative strength, quality and the right corporate strategy in product development ensured the steady growth of the company, which today employs almost 60 people – quite a few of whom can look back on many years of employment or have even been involved in its success from the very beginning. Highly qualified employees with a balanced age structure and a wide range of skills as well as a high depth of production form the pillars for ITK’s further growth.   

After the sudden death of Dr Folkert Kassen, a change of ownership took place in 2017 to Dr Rolf Slatter and Dr Ingolf Schäfer took over the management.  

“We look back on a very successful past, but in order to create a basis for the future needs of the company, the move to a significantly expanded production and administration building at the Dorlar site, is planned,” explains Dr Ingolf Schäfer.
